Program Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) dalam Membentuk Kemampuan Mengajar Calon Guru di SMA Negeri 5 Palopo

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan program Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) di SMA Negeri 5 Palopo; (2) Untuk menganalisis kemampuan mengajar calon guru di SMA Negeri 5 Palopo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang dilakukan selama pelaksanaan kegiatan PLP. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas mahasiswa peserta PLP, guru pamong, dan pihak sekolah. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan PLP memberikan pengalaman yang cukup penting bagi mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan mengajar. Mahasiswa memperoleh kesempatan untuk menyiapkan perangkat pembelajaran, menyampaikan materi, memilih metode dan media pembelajaran, mengelola kelas, berkomunikasi dengan siswa, serta melakukan evaluasi pembelajaran. Selain itu, arahan dan bimbingan guru pamong membantu mahasiswa mengetahui kekurangan dalam proses mengajar dan memperbaikinya pada pembelajaran berikutnya. Dengan adanya pengalaman mengajar secara langsung, mahasiswa menjadi lebih memahami tugas dan tanggung jawab seorang guru. Dengan demikian, pelaksanaan PLP di SMA Negeri 5 Palopo dapat membantu membentuk kemampuan mengajar serta meningkatkan kesiapan mahasiswa untuk menjalankan tugas sebagai calon guru.
