Antara Amerika Serikat & Indonesia, Analisis Penggunaan Teknologi dalam Mendukung Komunikasi Internal Organisasi Studi Kasus INGO Wildlife Conservation Society

Penelitian ini menganalisis peran teknologi komunikasi dalam mendukung komunikasi internal organisasi lintas negara pada organisasi non-pemerintah internasional (INGO), dengan studi kasus Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada dinamika komunikasi antara kantor pusat WCS di Amerika Serikat dan cabang operasional di Indonesia, dengan mempertimbangkan pengaruh teknologi, struktur jaringan komunikasi, serta perbedaan budaya organisasi dan budaya nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus tunggal, melalui metode wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan analisis dokumen internal organisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknologi komunikasi seperti Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Slack, dan platform berbasis cloud berperan penting dalam menjembatani jarak geografis dan perbedaan zona waktu, serta mendukung pola komunikasi vertikal, horizontal, dan diagonal di dalam organisasi. Namun, efektivitas penggunaan teknologi tersebut masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, baik teknis maupun non-teknis, seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur internet di wilayah kerja lapangan Indonesia, variasi literasi digital, serta perbedaan gaya komunikasi yang dipengaruhi oleh konteks budaya Amerika Serikat dan Indonesia. Budaya kerja Amerika Serikat yang cenderung langsung dan egaliter kerap berinteraksi dengan budaya Indonesia yang lebih kontekstual dan hierarkis, sehingga mempengaruhi partisipasi, penyampaian umpan balik, dan pengambilan keputusan dalam komunikasi digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan komunikasi lintas negara di organisasi global tidak hanya bergantung pada adopsi teknologi, tetapi juga pada keselarasan strategi komunikasi dengan konteks budaya organisasi dan budaya lokal. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan komunikasi berbasis teknologi yang adaptif, inklusif, dan sensitif terhadap perbedaan budaya untuk mendukung efektivitas kerja dan kolaborasi organisasi INGO secara berkelanjutan.
