Uji Aktivitas Antioksidan Ekstrak Sarang Semut Putih dan Sarang Semut Merah Asal Kampung Sarbe Kabupaten Teluk Wondama Papua Barat

Sarang semut merupakan tanaman epifit yang diketahui mengandung berbagai metabolit sekunder dengan aktivitas biologis, termasuk antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak sarang semut putih dan sarang semut merah yang berasal dari Kampung Sarbe, Kabupaten Teluk Wondama, Papua Barat. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%, dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) untuk mengetahui perbedaan antar perlakuan. Analisis fitokimia dilakukan untuk menentukan total fenol dan flavonoid, sedangkan aktivitas antioksidan diuji menggunakan metode penangkapan radikal bebas DPPH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi ekstrak berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan kadar total fenol dan flavonoid pada kedua jenis sarang semut. Ekstrak sarang semut putih memiliki kandungan fenol dan flavonoid lebih tinggi dibandingkan sarang semut merah. Aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa sarang semut putih memiliki kapasitas penangkal radikal bebas lebih tinggi, mendekati vitamin C pada konsentrasi 1,6%. Dengan demikian, sarang semut putih dan merah berpotensi sebagai sumber antioksidan alami, dengan efektivitas sarang semut putih yang lebih unggul.
